| Italian OreganoItalian oregano is sometimes referred to as Sicilian oregano, but the plant itself is a hybrid with sweet marjoram. The flavor, from a combination of sweet marjoram and oregano, is sweet and spicy. As far as growing it, climates around zone 7 are ideal, and the plant will get to the two feet tall, under the ideal conditions. This includes moist but well-drained soil and plenty of sun. Recipe: Italian ButterAfter the oregano is picked, here’s one recipe, called Italian butter, that involves the herb: 1/2 tsp oregano1/2 tsp basil
 1/2 tsp rosemary
 1/2 tsp salt
 Fresh ground pepper
 1 dash red pepper flakes
1 large cloves of crushed garlic
10 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Mix together dry spices and add crushed garlic. In small bowl, combine and mix with olive oil until desired consistency. |
