Farmer Phil's Black Beauty Heirloom Eggplant

Black Beauty Heirloom Eggplant

Black beauty is am heirloom variety. Usually large in size and a purple-black color, these vegetables enjoy heat and are easily damaged by cold weather. When adding any black beauty transplants, remember that each plant will likely bear four to six fruits at once and you should harvest them before the black fades to a distinct purple. Each transplant should be spaced 24 to 36 inches apart and in rows three to four feet apart.

For growing this variety of eggplant, some of our suggestions are:

Harvest: 76 days.
Exposure: Full sun.
Water Needs: Keep evenly moist.
Fertilizer: Fertilize when planting and when flowering.
